With the Pandemic hanging around making life a lot more difficult, College Football has returned, and although it’s limitations to how it’s being played the game we love is back. The excitement and the upsets sent the sporting world in an uproar. It’s College Gameday Saturday, the return to the field.
The biggest headline from College gameday is the Mississippi State vs LSU game. LSU ranked #6 came defending their title. However, M State had different ideas and out passed the Tigers offense, 623 yards and five touchdowns with two interceptions. KJ Costello set a SEC record for going over 600 yards in a game. What happened to LSU? Questions, so many questions but as of now the LSU Tigers are stunned by the 44-34 loss at the hands of Mississippi State.
#3 Oklahoma lost today in an upset that shocked the college football world. Kansas State has been a spoiler team and today they played just that spoiler to the Sooners hopes of winning. The game turned out the opposite of a lot of expectations. The Sooners would blow a 21 point lead and let Kansas come back and win on a last-minute field goal. Upsetting #3 Oklahoma Sooners, especially when they had the game in the bag, however, Kansas went out swinging and actually gotta hit, because they won 38-35 on an exciting afternoon of College gameday.
Tennessee Vols have been horrible the last few years, but as of late they have made a difference in their play and for today’s matchup, the Vols would pluck the South Carolina Gamecocks feathers as they shut down the opposition. Tennessee has been waiting for a moment to hold its head up high. With the play tonight they showed us that they can play and score and win. So it’s interesting to see how the season continues for the Vols, but as for South Carolina, they fumbled the gameplan and got routed quickly. Tennessee set a statement and now they definitely have to deliver. 31-27 Tennessee Vols win.
Saturday scores from the Saturday matchups. College gameday definitely has its key moments, especially when #8 Texas faces off against Texas Tech. However, the Longhorns would battle back and take the game to overtime, where the Texas Longhorns would come up Clutch in this comeback win to stun Texas Tech.
#8 Auburn and #23 Kentucky squared off and it would be all Auburn with the burn for the opposition. #23 Kentucky came in and just fell apart as Auburn took off with the 29-13 win. Bo Nix of Auburn threw for 233yds and three second-half touchdowns as Auburn just pulled away from the Wildcats of Kentucky.
